Installation

For the exhibition, studio and office space Kunstkanal we designed a modular kitchen. The basic structure consists of a self-welded steel frame, the shuttering of stained timber. The modules can each move on 6 load rollers and so we can arrange them for different occasions. For a cooking event a kitchen island is possible and for small parties and exhibitions, the modules can be arranged into a bar. For the sorting system, we use simple transport boxes. We have poured a small hand basin and vanity unit for the kitchen area of concrete, the bases of course are welded in steel.

The 20 light objects are in constant change of brightness, time and rhythm. Communication processes and group formations in form of brightness are visible. Visitors are in the communication processes by sensors involved.

The light objects are modular, a further expansion to the current light beings on three legs is being considered. By light sensors they can run in low-light corners and brighten up the room and of course they also can interact with the visitor. The expansion is planned for 2015.

Durchgang Odeongasse – Zirkusgasse, 1020 Wien The display is controlled by three chained AurinkoLink-Controllers – frame data is stored on an Arduino Duemilanove (using Toublos Arduino export function). Check our software page for details. Because of the simple and efficient hardware design the whole setup draws a maximum of 6 watts at full brightness from the grid. Typical consumption is about 3 watts.
